PICKETT DESERVES SPOTLIGHT
This is a winner! Blues fixture Pickett has toured with everyone - starting in the 70's with WHISKEY HOWL and WOODEN TEETH - so it's time he took the spotlight to lead a top T.O. troupe through a dozen of his potent songs. Pickett supplies harp and some guitar to back words that span bitter to sweet, optimistic to melancholy.
World Gone Crazy and 1988 are strong entries in a session often on the rock side of the blues, but also offering touches of country and soul.
The bouyant edge to his gruff, worn voice and spot-on harp comes through especially well on All Of These Blues and Walkin' , with B3 organ licks keeping the tunes hot even when the mood gets raw and spooky.
